About the Principals

Ed Blattler, CPA

Ed graduated with honors from Michigan State University where he received a duel Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Economics from the College of Business. While at MSU, he worked as a teaching assistant.

After graduation, he worked for Arthur Anderson & Co., where he was assigned to both the audit and consulting engagements of Fortune 500 companies. This experience transitioned him into a management position at one of their clients, United Energy Resources, Inc. There he gained a unique skill set overseeing their accounting and financial reporting department. While in this position, he worked with the department heads of the company, giving him a key role in the development of the companyís budgets and forecasts, as well as the companyís tax planning and compliance.

During his tenure there, he gained experience managing his department through several of the energy industryís most significant mergers and acquisitions. After three reorganizations, resulting from two acquisitions and one spin-off, Ed decided with his wife Jean Ann to combine their broad depth of experience and start their own CPA firm within the Tampa Bay area.

In addition to being a certified public accountant, Ed also holds his securities registrations, as well as his life, health and disability insurance licenses. He is an active member of the AICPA as well as the FICPA.

Jean Ann Blattler, CPA

Jean Ann graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from West Virginia University

After graduation, Jean Ann worked for a major bank based in Pittsburgh, PA and was then recruited into a position within Shell Oil Company based in Houston TX. She rapidly advanced through the ranks to a managerial position within the accounting department, but after reaching her early successes, she felt the desire to work more closely with individuals and small privately-owned companies. She then transitioned her career into a position she held with a local Houston based Certified Public Accounting firm where she was in charge of small business accounts, overseeing the accounting needs for both businesses and the individuals that owned them.

After five years with the local firm, Jean Ann saw the opportunity to mesh her skills with Edís to create a CPA firm within the Tampa Bay area which could provide not only the traditional services that CPAs provide, but also inject the perspective of strong proven managerial advice. In addition to being a certified public accountant, Jean Ann is also a member of the FICPA.
